• In order for error messages to work properly you must replace the REXX.MSG file with the OREXX.MSG file.
  

Windows'95, NT & XP Users

• Windows operating systems are unable to handle the .environment the way the OS/2 and eComstation operating systems do. If you are using Windows and Object Rexx for Windows, the examples dealing with the .environment will fail. This is a short-coming of Windows Operating systems.
  
  
• The book Object REXX by Example was written using the OS/2 version of Object REXX. All of the examples have been tested under the Windows'95 version of Object REXX. All of the programs work fine except for those mentioned above and those designed for use with Quercus, VX-REXX and VisPro REXX, the examples using the Workplace Shell and the last program in the book, FINE.CMD.
  
  
• Also note that Object REXX for Windows uses the file extension .REX instead of the familiar .CMD. Programs which REQUIRE other programs will have to be changed to accomodate this difference.
