This is an actual Quote received from one of our OOPS! users who is running OOPS! under Windows:

"We have had a serious virus in our system and our computers have been down for five days." We find this quote especially interesting because shortly after Oz was installed at Las Cruces, they too got a virus. . . it didn't bring down the Oz machines even though they were connected to their NT network, but it DID bring down the rest of there machines which were all Windows clients!

Too bad the OOPS! user quoted here never upgraded to Oz running on an eCS machine. eCS is immune to Windows viruses! OOPS! users are still being given special pricing for Oz.

And we're finding that there are still OOPS! users running under DOS!

On Friday, November 30, 2001, our plant was running OOPS! By the following Monday, December 3, 2001, all our data was converted to Oz and we generated PM Work Orders according to our schedule. The conversion went without a hitch and we are very satisfied with the Oz program.

Oz does everything OOPS! did plus a whole lot more. It has the modern look and feel which makes Oz even more user-friendly than OOPS!

Following is a note we got from an Oz user who had used Oz for over a year. He is from a large international company who was forced by 'corporate' to switch from Oz to SAP.

I MUST SAY IN FEW WORDS OF UNDERSTANDING HELP,HELP,HELP. I'VE CRASHED SAP THREE TIMES SINCE WE'VE BEEN ON THIS SYSTEM FOR A LITTLE OVER A MONTH. NEVER ONCE DID OZ FAIL ME!!!!!!

ONCE MORE I NOW KNOW WHAT SAP STANDS FOR ,BUT YOU'LL HAVE TO CALL ME TO FIND OUT WHAT IT IS.(VULGAR? HELL YES!!)

I USED OOPS/OZ BOTH, AND MISS OZ MORE THAN MY FISHING. OZ IS THE HANDS DOWN SYSTEM TO USE IN MY OPINION, USER FRIENDLY, PROGRAMED TEN TIMES EASIER AND FASTER.

FOR INSTANCE TO ENTER A PART NUMBER - OZ SAME SCREEN, SAP APPROX 10-15 DIFFERANT PAGES SESSIONS, FOUR ASPRINS, SIX SHOOTS OF LIQUOR, TWO DAYS OFF TO TARGET PRATICE WITH MY NEW RIFLE-NEED I SAY MORE!!!!!?????!!!!

We just saw an article (August, 2004) about HP and SAP. Seems HP is losing lots of money because of their decision to use SAP. They claim, it will be better in a month. Must be nice to have money to waste - I'm sure their stockholders must be thrilled.

We also have a note from an IT Manager where Oz is in use:

We have been using Aviar's OS/2-based Oz of Prevention since January 1999. We have generated over 6,000 Work Orders in this time frame.

During that time, the Oz CMMS program has never crashed. We have never had to reboot our computer as the result of a freeze, lock-up or 'Blue Screen.'. We have not used Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart. We have not lost any data, nor wasted time rebooting. We have not had to re-install the Operating System or Oz itself.

In our opinion, Oz has been 99.9% reliable. It is most certainly a solid product and a good investment.

. . . We have evaluated the Oz CMMS system for our School District. I believe the Oz System is a very good fit for our school maintenance program. We feel this system is an excellent investment and will pay for itself by saving us time and money by better organizing our resources and will enable us to set up a preventive maintenance schedule so that we are not always doing emergency work. It will give me the ability to better tract the work performed and provide the school administrators with reports showing what is being done and the costs associated with the various jobs and the equipment and parts used.

We find the Oz system to be very user-friendly while still providing the flexibility we need. The lookup tables are especially helpful - they save us time building our files and they help ensure consistency in our data.
