OOPS!® Technical Support - SUPPLEMENT SHEETS

Supplement Sheets/Reference Sheets

In creating supplement sheets or reference file names, you have to observe standard DOS conventions. Supplement sheets can be up to 8 characters long and CANNOT have a period in the file name. They cannot have spaces in the file name either!!!

References follow the same rule. If OOPS! says "cannot open file" when you try to save a supplement sheet or REF file, check the file name spelling and see if it violates the rules. You might want to use a letter for the first character just to be safe. If it does violate the rule, use the WRITE command and a valid file name to save the work.

Problem:
Converted word processing document into reference sheet and when printed on the work order cut off part of the sentences.

Solution:
Margins were set to wide. Bring up the reference sheet in OOPS!, set word wrap to 75. At the blue text editor, press Escape, type in ADJUST, press Enter. This will adjust the sentences to the correct margin setting.

Problem:
You want to copy a section of one supplement sheet to another.

Solution:
WRITE a command: WRITE GARY.TMP 1,22.

This will write lines 1 thru 22 out to a file. Then go into the target sheets and do INSERT GARY.TMP. This should move the contents of the .TMP file to the current supplement sheet.

Problem:
You need to continue a supplement sheet.

Solution:
Put CONTINUED: sheetname on line 54. Next, make a new sheet with the same name sheetname; this will be page 2 of sheetname

Problem:
You want to save a supplement sheet.

Solution:
Esc and STOP.

Problem:
You create reference sheets in Works and save them under the OOPS! directory, but are not able to access them.

Solution:
You must use DOS naming conventions --

    No spaces
    No dashes
    No commas
    You can use underscores.
