OOPS!® Technical Support - GENERAL

Problem:

OOPS! was minimized every time a user received an email. The user had Microsoft Outlook email.

Solution:

Monitor Information
The possible settings for monitor types are:

    CC
    CM
    MM
    AM
    AC
CC is the default. To use any of the others, at the OOPS prompt in DOS type: SET MDBSTERM=XX. This should set it permanently unless someone else is setting it also. For several different types of machines on a network, the best bet is to set the MDBSTERM in the OOPS.BAT file on each machine.

The first letter refers to the card type, the second to the monitor type. When using any of the A's, make sure ANSI.SYS is getting loaded.

Problem:

OOPS! was minimized every time a user received an email. The user had Microsoft Outlook email.

Solution:

Problem:
You want to edit the info in a Lookup Table.

Solution:
Put the code for the entry you wish to edit in the field and press F1. Then pick the Review option, which is an edit.

Problem:
The WOHIST file will not cleanup when run.

Solution:
You may not have enought free disk space. Check the size of the file and then check to see how much free space you have on your disk. You either have to free up some disk space or find a machine with more free disk space to run the cleanup.

Problem:
You are getting errors: "Cannot Open File - File Error 20."

Solution:
Check "FILES" in CONFIG.SYS and file handles on the network.

Problem:
You want to delete laborers. Setting the "Delete" flag to Y isn't working.

Solution:
Run a cleanup.

Problem:
OOPS! won't take a completion date of today.

Solution:
The "System Date" is set wrong.

Problem:
You want to make a look-up table for minute-decimal conversions on ACTDTIME.

Solution:
Change LOOKMACD to the following:

    ZZIN=TOSTR(ZZACTDTI,8,2) and ZZACTDTI=TONUM(ZZOUT)

Problem:
Getting FILE ERROR 38 and other file-type messages.

Solution:
"Files" is set too low in CONFIG.SYS. Bump up to 75 if you are running Windows, Lantastic, DOS and OOPS.

Problem:
You want to backup to a drive other than C:

Solution:
You can write a special DOS backup file OOPSBACK.BAT which will run automatically when the backup option is selected. Call Technical Support for details

Problem:
On command line and don't know how to get back.

Solution:
Press Esc.

Problem:
You need a listing of the values put into the lookup tables.

Solution:
Run a custom report of looktab.mst with scrname, scrpos, lookcode and lookval.

Problem:
You want to set F-keys to modify the history file.

Solution:
You cannot do this. OOPS! safeguards against changes to history unless they are really intended.

PM Schedule

Problem:
When user went to produce PM's, the system slowed down and it took much longer then usual to produce PM work orders.

Solution:
A new screen saver had been installed; when it started running it was halting the OOPS! processing. Option, uninstall screen saver or set it to come on after a longer period of inactivity.

Problem: OOPS! is running slow at startup

This happened with one user. The NET USE command in the Printer Setup file to select a network printer was pointing to an incorrect address; the network was trying to resolve the error which caused the time delay.

Solution:
To check to see if this is your problem, print a report with all of the printers and their net use command. Then issue the net use command at a DOS prompt and see if it fails. If it does, check with your network administrator and have them verify the network address.

To create the report:

  1. Go under Adhoc, then Adhoc Reports
  2. Create a new report, called PRINTER
  3. Press enter, reply Y to new, N to is it similar
  4. Choose A another file, Tablename PRTCFG, Filename PRTCFG.MST, leave the index blank
  5. Put in the report as below and print out the results.
  6. Then go to the DOS prompt and type in the netuse command to see which printer is causing the error.
